Support Anfrage: Sitekiosk not starting after powerdown.

Beschreibung

We are using Sitekiosk in 3 computers in a library and they are configured to shut down in the evening and to startup again in the morning. The problem is that they do not want to start sitekiosk completely. They are booting up just fine until sitekiosk should have displayed the startpage but instead the rotating dots just continues and nothing happens.

The only way to fix this is to restart the machine by either the powerbutton or the console to restart properly. Then it uninstalls Siteremote Client and installs it again and the same with Sitecaster, why it does that we don't know but it works because then it starts normally.

The computer we are using is a Lenovo Thinkcentre M720q, just installed two weeks ago, after that it didn't want to start. Same config-file as the previous computers which started every time.

Hello,

The rotating dots in themselves indicate that this is a problem with the Windows system startup because SiteKiosk does not have such an animation.
Furthermore, neither the SiteKiosk installation nor the SiteKiosk configuration changes during runtime, which also indicates that this is a problem that is caused from outside SiteKiosk.

You may check the Windows event log for errors or warnings during startup?
Please also note that Microsoft had its patch day yesterday and update installations may delay the start of Windows.

Generally I would also recommend to disable the so called Hibernate mode of Windows for this scenario (e.g. using command line: powercfg /h off) to make sure the system shuts down completely at the configured times.

Those rotating dots are from within sitekiosk, they come just before the startpage should show. Where could i send a picture of what i mean?
