Description

Hi, for some reason web links do not seem to work with SiteKiosk? You click on them but nothing happens. What should I do?

Hello,

The SiteKiosk browser is just using the network connection of Windows. You may first check if the link works outside of SiteKiosk (e.g. in IE) and if there is any further information in the SiteKiosk log (..\SiteKiosk\Logfiles).

Please note that SiteKiosk version 6.x is out of support.

I was able to fix the issue by closing sitekiosk and starting it again. I think there may have been some safe surf settings that was causing the issue from what I could see in the logs but I didn't see that in the SiteRemote logs, I saw it in the SiteKiosk log.

Hello,

Generally the SiteKiosk logs are also transferred to SiteRemote.
When the URL will be blocked by your Surfing Area settings you will have entries like this in the log:
[SiteKiosk] Notification: According to the surf area rules the navigation to XYZ was canceled.

Then you need to check the Surfing Area settings:

Yes, that was what I saw in the log files but not on SiteRemote. I only saw them when I logged into SiteKiosk on the PC itself

Hello,

On SiteRemote you generally see the same log messages like in the local log but the log file information may not have been transferred to SiteRemote at that time you checked it (the contact interval of the client machine is 5 minutes by default) or you maybe have changed the log message settings on SiteRemote so that this information is not displayed (-->Administration-->Settings--> Log Message Settings).

Nevertheless you need to check your Surfing Area settings in the SiteKiosk configuration in case the URL is blocked by the Surfing Area settings.
