Support Request: Drop Down Menus are Blank for Ceridian Dayforce

Description

When attempting to use the Ceridian Dayforce web site through Sitekiosk 9.4.7317, all drop down menus on the web site are blank. We are running Sitekiosk over Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.19301CO on Windows 7 SP1. When accessing the Ceridian Dayforce web site with Internet Explorer on the same computer, but outside of Sitekiosk, the drop down menus work properly.

Hello,

Thank you for submitting your inquiry. I was able to review your files. There are a few things we can try to resolve the issue you are having.

1. If your application does not call for the use of IE exclusively, try Chrome browser.
2. If you can't use Chrome, try the new Metro IE skin as the older browser skin IE7 is no longer supported.
3. If neither will work, please try our SiteKiosk version 9.7 5026 (ignore the registration portion unless ready) in a test environment. Repeat steps 1 and 2.

Please let me know the results.

Best regards.

Hello,

In addition to the previous post, if none of the previously mentioned steps worked. Then you can try deactivating the option “Add "SiteKiosk" to user agent header” in the SiteKiosk configuration under "Start Page & Browser-->Advanced". Test to see if this works.

*More information about this option here at “5. Computer identification”:

Thank you for the suggestings. Unfortunately, they did not fix the issue.

I see that another customer experienced the same problem in Support Ticket # 24239. https://www.provisio.com/en-US/CustomerSupportCenter/ArticleDetails.aspx?ArticleID=24239

However I do not see a solution listed. What was the resolution of that support ticket?

Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for reporting your findings. I was able to do some additional research. This issue was not caused by SiteKiosk itself. It may have to do with the Browser Engines that SiteKiosk uses. You can review your site within these Browser Engines as such:

The Microsoft Web Browser Control will need additional steps to emulate your correct version, if necessary. Please read carefully.

Pass (able to display correctly) – The fault may lie within SiteKiosk (configuration setting or possible bug). We will need full details of what your page and configuration may entail so we could replicate and provide a fix. (Update Purchase required)

Fail (did not display correctly) – You or your web design team will need to revisit the coding on the affected webpage. There is nothing else that can be done.

Hello,

We are using CHROMEHTML protocol to open the Dayforce web site in Chrome from our in house portal web site that is optimized for and accessed via Internet Explorer 11. We have this working from Internet Explorer. However, it does not work when we are running our portal in SiteKiosk. Chrome attempts to launch, as you can see the outline of the Chrome browser window, but it immediately goes away. Sample URL: chromehtml:// https://config.dayforcehcm.com/mydayforce/login.aspx

I am currently researching "Instructions on how to use external applications."

Can you provide me with any advice or additional documentation regarding how to make this work with SiteKiosk?

Is there anything that can or should be added to the .skcfg xml file?

I have tried using the IE 7 skin and the current Metro IE Skin.

Thank you.
