Support Request: Unable to open the Adobe Print Dialog box

Description

We are using your software on our internal kiosks. We are using WorkDay to print payslips. We are having trouble to print with Adobe on your kiosks. We are now using Adobe Reader 20.012.20043. It seems that the print dialog box is being suppressed when trying to print. We have tried to find a solution in your Knowledge Base but cannot seem to find an exact match. Can you help us?

Are you seeing an error message when you try to print? What do you see in your SiteKiosk log file when you try to print? You can activate the log file output window to see the log file while it is being written in the configuration editor under >Basic >Logfiles >Show output window. Is there a difference between Start Once and Autostart modes? Can you successfully print other documents or is the printing issue only affecting PDFs?

Hello,

In addition to previous response, the issue you mentioned might be a known issue with those who may have recently updated to windows 10 version 2004. The plugin of Acrobat Reader has a problem with the Windows 10 2004 update. See: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader/problem-with-print-function-after-windows-10-update-2004/td-p/11165512?profile.language=de&page=1. This will only affect those who use the IE browser in SiteKiosk.

Please note that older SiteKiosk versions are no longer supported when a new version is released. You can try testing our newest version without a license and using Chrome browser (in SiteKiosk). If you are not satisfied with printing in our Chrome browser, you can allow Downloads and set the File Actions(under Customize Chrome Browser>>Downloads) to open PDF files automatically with Adobe Reader. You can reach out to us by email on licensing questions.
