Support Request: Allow users to check personal email

Description

We currently have only adp.com web site access from our SiteKiosk machines.

-The only application that is allowed is Chrome
-Surfing Area > URL's/Paths > the path online.adp.com/ is allowed

This works great. However, now management wants to allow users to check their personal email (not all employees have corporate email and some company communications are sent to their personal emails).

I thought I could just make the following changes:
-Add https://mail.google.com to the Surfing Area > URL/Paths allowed section
-Also, Under Start Page & Browser > Advanced (Customize Chrome Browser) > Browser Toolbar I turned on "Show Address Bar"

But when I activate the SiteKiosk software and see ADP on the browser tab, I try to add another tab (to check email) and all it does is bring up another ADP tab. I need to allow for about 10 different email sites (gmail, hotmail, yahoo, etc.) but I'm not exactly sure how I should go about configuring this.

Can you point me in the right direction?

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. You can read more about using wildcard masks in Help File - Surfing Area - Section 1 URLs/Paths - https://www.provisio.com/helpconsole/SiteKiosk%20Help/en-US/default.htm?surfing_area.htm

This would simplify the number of web domain entries you need to allow. For example, to log in to mail.google.com, you will be redirected to accounts.google.com. You can account for this by listing *.google.com/* to allow any visit to Google's domain. However, if this is too broad, you can navigate to mail.google.com in SiteKiosk browser and note in the SiteKiosk logs (C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\Logfiles , *.txt files) each site visited and you would make allowance for just accounts.goole.com/* and mail.google.com/* . Basically all other Google services will be blocked.

Best regards,
Andre.

how do i get the new "tab" to not default to displaying the adp.com site? Or, how do I add favorites to this browser? I'm going to upload a screen shot so you can see what I see.

I guess I can't upload a screen shot. Can I send it to you in an email?

Hello,

Thank you for your response. By "Tab", are you referring to the custom button that shows up above browser toolbar? You can send the screenshot to support-america(at)provisio.com, referencing this post.

SiteKiosk does not offer a favorites listing. You can use Start Screen (IE or Chrome) to list most popular websites. Using the web element, you can customize it to launch a SiteKiosk browser window linking that site. Start Screen can be chosen under Configuration>>"Start Page and Browser", see tutorial video link - https://www.provisio.com/en-US/Video/Player.aspx#StartscreenTutorialENFinal.webm

Best regards,
Andre.

Hello,

Thank you for your file. To change what opens first when the SiteKiosk browser is launched, change the web link listed under Start Page when you select "Metro IE" or "Chrome Browser" skin in Configuration>>"Start Page and Browser". The setting will remain even if you select Start Screen afterwards.

Best regards,
Andre.
