New Features In SiteKiosk

Version 7.5
Features:
- As it makes use of the 32-bit WebBrowser Control, the 64-bit version of SiteKiosk is now also cabable of handling Flash and other 32-bit extensions.
- Newly developed SiteRemote 3 client capable of supporting VNC, folder synchronization and the transmission of Windows event logs in conjunction with SiteRemote 3 server auditing.
- New Esc dialog box. SiteKiosk and Windows event logs can be called up directly. A command line or the Windows task manager can be opened to perform maintenance work. The new SiteRemote 3 client can be used to authenticate a SiteRemote user and call up the Esc dialog box.
- The software watchdog running in the background to protect SiteKiosk has been given a customizable user interface.
- The newly created pages for the selection of the browser design, the Start Page templates and the touchscreen keyboard now show all designs both the ones installed locally and the ones available for download.
- New skin with Windows 7 and IE8 design.
- The file manager supports multiple selections as well as drag&drop.
- To prevent long loading times (for instance, for loading large video files), the small preview images on the Digital Signage configuration page are turned off when the SiteKiosk Player is selected.
- The navigation error page of SiteKiosk is now capable of detecting whether the error is due to a missing Internet connection or an unresolvable URL.
- The search field embedded in the skin is now independent of the search service.
- The standard skins are now also available in Vietnamese.
- The HB1033 Echo-Finder proximity switch made by friendlyway is now also supported by SiteKiosk.
- The SiteKiosk installer now explicitly provides the option of installing SiteKiosk for use with terminal services. Please observe the instructions in the installer when selecting this installation option.
- Payment Module: Images of Turkish bank notes have been added.
- Payment Module: Calling up the file manager is now linked to the billing for external programs.
- Payment Module: A receipt system can be used to create customer receipts for the use of SiteKiosk.

Bugs:
- The SiteKiosk process will now always be terminated in no more than 2 minutes after SiteKiosk was closed. This means that ActiveX controls which may have been implemented improperly will no longer cause SiteKiosk to wait in vain for the controls to be terminated properly.
- Issues displaying icons have been fixed in various places (including missing icons in the file manager and the desktop Start Page).
- The files stored on USB memory sticks and disks are not sorted alphabetically by the file manager.
- When opened using the contextual menu, the number of windows can no longer exceed the maximum allowable number of browser windows.
- A restart if SiteKiosk due to excessive memory usage will no longer discard the existing credit balance.
- Icon resources are released again, which fixes a potential cause for crashes during extended running times.
- Display issues have been fixed for the use of multiple monitors. The problems occurred when the driver of the primary monitor was positioned to the right of the secondary monitor driver.
- Scrolling in the subfolders of the portal Start Page used to be not possible if this was not required on the superior level due to the low number of folders.
- If the random play sequence is selected in the SiteKiosk Player, the Player will now observe the individual display duration.
- Problem when downloading files to a network drive has been fixed.
- Cause for crashes when selecting the printing option used for printing large frames and error message when selecting the option “Print website as shown†have been corrected.
- The System Security Wizard is available again to the SiteKiosk user from outside of the wizard once the password has been changed.
- Downloading .doc files no longer causes crashes in combination with Open Office and SiteKiosk.
- The proxy settings specified in the configuration are retained every time SiteKiosk is executed under the SiteKiosk user account.
- Inconsistencies when reading and storing values in the dialog box used for the printed settings have been resolved.
- The search field embedded in the skin is reset at logout.
- URLs consisting of more than 260 characters are no longer cut off.
- The usability of the chip & PIN payment option has been optimized.
- The interaction between the display of the favorites and the logout or screensaver option has been improved.
- The problem whereby the SiteCafe server – when the connection to the server is restored - is contacted by its computer name/URL rather than its IP address has been fixed.

Version 7.1

Version 7.0
Features:
- The new Voice over IP plugin offers support for SIP gateways as well as Skype and lets you use VoIP including rate-based billing directly from within SiteKiosk.
- Digital Signage mode allows you to play back play lists containing files of different formats. Digital Signage/screensaver mode can be controlled by motion sensor, Web cam and pressure mat as well as mouse and keyboard.
- New Digital Signage Start Page template.
- Revised portal Start Page. Links can be grouped together.
- SiteKiosk features its own player for playing back video, audio, flash, etc. (a matching codec must be installed).
- SiteKiosk's download manager is now also able to handle redirects, making the special treatment of specific downloads, e.g. from different mail portals, unnecessary.

- You can now implement any credit card gateway by embedding them individually using an adjustable script. In addition, you can create your own credit card payment solutions.

Bugs:

- Calling the SiteKiosk Object Model function DeleteTempInternetFiles now also works flawlessly in fullscreen mode.
- Files to be deleted will still be deleted at the end of a session if they are open in a different application at the time the session ends. The same applies to files that were burnt using SiteKiosk's burning function.
- The Payment Module zone model correctly detects indirect Web server transfers.
- ccTalk-capable NRI G13 coin acceptors that have to communicate with SiliconLabs drivers can now be selected as ccTalk devices.
- The occurrence of a "Track 2 data missing" error during a credit card transaction no longer requires that you restart SiteKiosk to reset the error.
- Logging out on the navigation error page no longer causes an error message when using the Surftime Limiter.
- Problems solved that sometimes occurred when no Internet connection is available when SiteKiosk is launched and checking for an Internet connection is enabled in SiteKiosk.
- Files accessed via a network path can be viewed on a second monitor again.
- The ejection lock for CD-ROM drives no longer remains active when the Windows user is locked out from within SiteKiosk.
- The timeout of script jobs submitted by SiteRemote are now realistic.
- Pressing the Del key to delete the main folder from the favorites list now no longer causes SiteKiosk's Configuration Wizard to freeze.
- Touchscreen keyboards are correctly reset to their start values upon logout/the end of the session.
- SiteKiosk configurations that are copied from another machine, but do not overwrite existing configurations, now launch without a problem.
- The combination of dial-up connections and the use of Start Page templates, Payment Module, and SiteRemote now no longer causes navigation error messages when SiteKiosk is launched.

The software can continuously check the internet connection. When the internet connection fails all payment devices may be deactivated.
Please access the SiteKiosk configuration wizard, go to "Browser Design" and select "Customize". Under "Payment Module" you will find new options to configure this feature.

Navigation errors issued by the operating system (such as "404 page not found") can now be replaced by your own individual SKIN pages.

Version 6.2
- File Manager
This special File Manager was developed to grant users (limited) administrative rights to manage their files. Users will now be able to view, manage, e-mail or burn files they downloaded or which they had previously stored on a removable data carrier.
- CD Burning Feature
File Manager provides an optional CD burning feature. However, the feature is not available unless File Manager runs on WindowsXP and a CD burner is attached.
- SiteRemote Server Version
The server version of SiteRemote lets you manage your teams and their machines from your own server. Additional Hardware and Software is required.

- SiteCafe - New Version And Bug Fixes
- If certain circumstances were met, SiteCafe 1.0 could produce serious errors. These problems could be resolved in this new version and additional improvements with regard to speed and stability could be achieved.
- SiteCafe is now fully available in German, English, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch, and Turkish.
- As they can now also sign in via the payment dialog box, users will now be able to set any Start Page in SiteKiosk when they employ SiteCafe.
- Under SiteKiosk->Payment Devices->SiteCafe, users can specify that their payment devices, e.g. coin checkers, will not accept money unless the user is logged on/authorized. This feature may be of particular interest for public institutions (e.g. libraries), where customers need to be authorized before they can use a terminal.

Apart from WM_Close, the Dialog Box and Window Management now lets you send special commands that allow you to close any persistent window of third party applications without a problem.
- New Browser Designs
- TouchMe Skin
The TouchMe skin is a newly developed browser design intended to be used in combination with touchscreens. However, the design is also well suited for sealed off media content in companies, museums, exhibitions, communities etc.
- Code (Prepaid PIN) Selling Station
Use this skin in combination with payment devices such as bill readers or coin checkers to create your own selling station for prepaid PIN codes. Simply install SiteKiosk along with SiteCafe on a computer, connect one or more payment devices and you are all set to allow you customers to create their own prepaid PIN code, allocate as much money to it as they want, print it etc. by inserting the requested amount into the device. Since the creation and management of the codes is automatic, you will virtually no longer have to assign this task to a member of your staff.
- New Touchscreen Designs - (matching IE Skin)
Several new designs were developed for use with touchscreens:
- Num block (floating) facilitating the input of numbers.
- PROVISIO keyboard (adjusted to IE skin). The keyboard is available in different languages under http://www.siteskin.com/.
- MSN and Yahoo Web Messenger
Web messenger services can now easily be enabled on the configuration page under Browser Design » Default Skin and IE Skin » Adjust Button » Messenger.
- Help system based on MS Agent
Have you heard of Microsoft Agent yet? MS Agent is an interactive character (avatar), who is even able to speak. We now developed a Help system for the default skin based on MS Agent. If requested, the likable agent will explain the different browser functions to the user (English/German). The Help system can be activated under Browser Design » Default Skin » Adjust » MS Agent / Help.
- Advanced Print Functions
The print functions have been revised and expanded considerably:
- You can now address several printers as well
- It is now possible to define different print charges (!) and settings
- Users will now be able to select their own printer and print their pages in the format they desire
- The SiteKiosk Object was expanded considerably and makes it now possible to, for instance, change the default printer by script or to retrieve the printer status information
- Popup Blocker
Version 6.2 includes a popup blocker feature if you are using WinXP plus Service Pack 2. The popup blocker can be disabled at the SiteKiosk configuration tool at Browserdesign/Advanced.
- New Tool: Keyboard Remapper
Re-mapping a keyboard means to assign new functions to the keys of your keyboard, e.g. pressing the F1 key will open a certain URL or reset the browser to the Start Page. The necessary settings can now conveniently be accessed by the included tool, which is available under Start / Program Files / SiteKiosk / Tools / Keyboard Remapper.
- SiteKiosk as default browser
SiteKiosk is now automatically set as the default browser for the sitekiosk secure user account.
- Documentation: SiteCafe Manager and Client Object
SiteCafe Manager and the SiteCafe Client Object have been added to the documentation of the SiteKiosk Object Model. You will now be able to develop your own Internet cafe solutions or expand the SiteCafe solution by your own component.
 Version 6.0
- SiteRemote - remotely maintain and control your computers:
SiteRemote makes it really easy to manage and control your terminals. After a development period stretching over more than a year, this new remote maintenance and administration tool, employing Microsoft's .net technology, has now been released. SiteRemote allows you to monitor your terminals from your office. It also lets you create reports on usage and turnover, allows you to make changes to the configuration file, makes it possible for you to directly exchange data between your local computer and the clients SiteRemote and so forth. You can apply for free access to the server for 30 days at http://www.siteremote.net and test drive this remote management thoroughly.
- SiteCafe - Internet Cafe mode, prepaid PINs, and user accounts
In responde to many customer requests, we have been busy over the past nine months developing a special SiteCafe module. This module ships with the Payment Bundle and consists of a server module (SiteCafe Manager) along with a database and an additional SiteCafe payment device available in the payment device list of SiteKiosk. SiteCafe allows you to unlock and control your workstations from one central location. Since charging is partly done by PIN codes and/or password-protected user accounts, you will not necessarily need to employ any additionaly payment hardware. If payment devices, such as coin acceptors, are connected to your terminals, you will now be able to allow your customrs to manage their remaining credit balance in their own user account. SiteCafe does not require the use of special server computers, but can run on any regular Windows computer. You can download SiteCafe from our Web site and put it to a thorough test.
- Log Files - now included as a basic feature in Version 6.0:
The runtime protocol is now a standard feature in SiteKiosk's Basic Version rather than additional component of SiteReport. The log files protocol all actions performed by SiteKiosk with the precision of one second. The statistics known from SiteReportare now provided by SiteRemote in greatly extended form. For instance, the logging functionality will now allow you to summarize information over a any period of time and for any number of terminals.
- Payment Module configuration options:
- You can now charge for the use of programs depending on the time of day they are used (multiplier).
- Automatic E-mail reports about the turnover is now available for individiual devices and after X number of transactions.
- Payment Module scripting option for pull mode: Depending on the payment device you employ customers can now be given change (Escrow Mode)
- Paymnet devices can be enabled or disabled by script in runtime in order to, for example, deny the acceptance of coins altogether.
- Support for additional payment devices:

- MATRIX USB bill reader
- Intermediary service (ESCROW) for emp800 coin acceptors
- Context Menu (right mouse click):
In response to many requests, SiteKiosk now supports the use of the right mouse button. If enabled, this function will allow your customers to copy, cut, paste, save images, add favorites etc. with a click on the right mouse button.
- Quick Start Dialog:
The SiteKiosk startup dialog has been completely revised and now offers a new quick start function, which you can adjust to fit your needs.
- Touchscreen Keyboards - hide/show dynamically
If you employ touchscreen keyboards, you might want the keyboard to appear only on certain Web sites, e.g. on Web sites requiring users to enter their user information. SiteKiosk now lets you define specifically for which URLs you want the keyboard to be appear and for which ones you want it to be hidden.
- Start Page Templates:
The new Start Page templates will now make it possible even for less technology-savvy users to easily create their own individual start pages - no programming skills are required.
- SiteKiosk configuration tool:
- You can not individually configure SiteKiosk browser's "user agent" ID.
- New windows can now be opened "maximized."
- You can now freely define the number or allowed open windows.
- The most frequently requested browser skins in terms of the look and functionality can now be set using a Customize button in the configuration tool.
- More languages added
SiteKiosk now supports Hebrew and Arabic as well.
- Set SiteKiosk as default browser
As of version 6.0, SiteKiosk will allow you to assign the display of Web documents to the SiteKiosk browser. The main benefit of this is that whenever other applications (e.g. Messenger) call up an HTML link, this link will open directly in SiteKiosk rather than (as it used to be) in Internet Explorer (which was then suppressed by SiteKiosk). Provided you are using at least Wind2K SP3 or WinXP SP1, you will find the corresponding settings under "Start/Control Panel/Software/Set Program Access and Defaults."
- New license keys in 6.0
Version 6.0 will accept all license keys issued starting from December 2003. License keys issued earlier than that can be enabled for use in Version 6 in exchange for a fee.
