Support Request: RTMPTE protocol not supported?

Reproduction

No sample code available. Please contact us for more information when required.

Description

Dear Support,

We are testing Sitekiosk with the Chromium browser to support our website. We use a flash-movie for streaming audio over the RTMPTE protocol but can't connect to our streaming server. It seems the protocol is not supported in the Chromium browser or blocked even when allowing it in the settings.
The stream is working with the IE browser and in Chromium we can use the RTMPE protocol. However the tunneled version can't connect to our server.

Can you confirm the lack of support for the protocol or implement support in the Chromium browser?

Thank you in advance,

Casper Karreman

Hello,

This is not a bug but a security feature. Not all protocols are allowed in SiteKiosk Browser by default.
But you can add the protocol you want to use by editing the SiteKiosk configuration file (…\SiteKiosk\Config\YourConfig.skcfg).

Search for the line

<schemes defaultallowed="false">

Then add the protocol you want to allow below that line in the same way the other protocols are added.
e.g.

<scheme name=" rtmpe" desc=" streaming audio Protocol" allowed="true" />

General note about Chrome Browser Skin and Adobe Flash content:
- Make sure you enabled “Use Flash” at “-->Start Page & Browser-->Customize-->Settings” in the SiteKiosk configuration.
- Make sure you downloaded and installed the 32-bit Adobe Flash Player for Opera and Chromium (PPAPI) from the Adobe website.

Hello Michael Olbrich,

Thank you for your quick reply.

We have already added the proposed line in the settings, you can check attached config file attached at the bug report. We also added this line for the RTMPTE (see last two letters "TE"). The normal encrypted stream is working properly but the tunneled version doesn't.

RTMPE - works
RTMPTE - not working

Hello,

Can you provide a demo page where we can test this?

Is there a plugin required to make it work in Chrome?

You may also check with using the Chromium CEF Browser test application (not you need to extract the download twice with using 7ZIP)::
http://opensource.spotify.com/cefbuilds/cef_binary_3.2883.1553.g80bd606_windows32_client.tar.bz2

The Link above downloads Chromium 55.0.2883.87 Windows 32 Bit that is used in SiteKiosk 9.4 and 9.5 Here the main pages of the Chromium CEF project:
http://opensource.spotify.com/cefbuilds/index.html
https://bitbucket.org/chromiumembedded/cef

With “Chrome Browser” skin (available since SiteKiosk 9.x) SiteKiosk does use a Chromium Browser engine (CEF) instead of the IE Webbrowser Control.
The CEF engine will be installed with SiteKiosk 9.x.

If I can send you an e-mail I can provide details about the test environment since this is a restricted situation.

You can send an e-mail to automatisering@muziekweb.nl.

Best regards,

Casper
