Support Request: Clarification on RemoteInput

Description

Hi, for remote connection to a tablet running Sitekiosk Android we saw RemoteInput Client as an option
How does it work?
How do we connect to the tablet that's running RemoteInput? Through VNC?
Does it have a server side software?
There a FAQ about RemoteInput?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

The remote input client can be downloaded from within your SiteRemote Team (>Administration>Downloads) but requires a Windows computer with SiteKiosk Windows and a SiteKiosk registration to the SiteRemote Server.

After you installed the remote input client software a QR code is displayed on screen that allows you to e.g. control the mouse pointer of the SiteKiosk terminal with any smart phone or tablet that has a camera and internet connection.
When scanning the QR code e.g. with your smartphone camera a public website on the SiteRemote Server is called that opens the RemoteInput for the SiteKiosk Terminal you scanned the QR code from.

It establishes a websocket connection between the mobile device and the SiteRemote server with internal tunneling to the terminal. The connection is limited in time so that the terminal is not blocked permanently.

Hi,

thanks for those explaination.

So, RemoteInput cannot be installed on tablet but only on Windows, right?

To have a VNC connection to a tablet, the tablet has to be rooted?

Thanks
