Support Request: Auto log off problem

Description

Hello there.We use this software in our Animal Hospital.Computer we installed is always on.But after a few hours of inactivity sitekiosk auto logs off and force closes all word and excel files.This causes data loss.How can we disable auto log off.

Hello,

There is no function in SiteKiosk for logging of the user automatically after a certain time.

But regarding your description you may even talk about the screen saver function that will make all applications and windows close and returns to SiteKiosk start page after the (configured) idle time.

The screen saver (and the idle time) can be configured in the SiteKiosk configuration (-->Screensaver).
If necessary you even can turn off the screen saver completely. Further information you will find in the SiteKiosk help:

Another issue that may cause this a maintenance setting that shuts down the computer or set the system to standby mode.
You may also verify this in the SiteKiosk configuration at “-->Maintenance”.
The only default entry is to restart the system at 4 A.M. in the morning.

Otherwise it maybe is caused by any power safe settings on Windows. You can / should check that on Windows (-->Control Panel-->Power Options).
