Support Request: Problem with opening MS Office documents

Description

We use Windows 8 with Open Office. Files with extentions .docx are opened properly with Open Office. Files with extentions .doc .xls and .xlsx cannot be opened. Mesage is "There is no associated program to open this file". In Control Panel ->Default Programs -> Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program all this extentention are set to be opened with Open Office. Steps performed:
1. Installation the latest ver. 8.91.3042 over the originaly installed 8.85 does not solve this issue.
2. Uninstallation of the SiteKiosk and installation again does not solve this issue

By default SiteKiosk tries to open a number of known file types with the applications they are associated with on the system. Depending on where an application puts these link associations in the registry SiteKiosk is not always able to find the right application. In this case, please do as described under 4.5 here:

Make sure to put the entry where you open doc, xls etc. with Open Office above this existing entry:
