If you are getting the error “for security reason this action is not allowed”, It would mean that you either did not allow Downloads under (Basic > File Manager & Downloads) or that a window or dialog box is being blocked by the SiteKiosk software for security reasons. To allow the window, you may need to edit the settings in the “Windows and Dialogs” settings in the SiteKiosk configuration file. (BASIC > Access/Security > Block system critical windows & dialog boxes)
Save and test in SiteKiosk.

Steps to display PDFs in Reader instead of the browser:

• In Adobe Reader go to >Edit >Preferences... >Internet then uncheck the box labeled "Display PDF in browser".

• Second, go to "C:\Program Files\SiteKiosk\Xml\DownloadManager.xml" then right click the file and open in Notepad. Place your cursor at the end of the line after "<extension-list>" then press enter to create new line. Add the following in the new line your created "<extension name='pdf' download='2' open='1'/>". Save your changes and test in SiteKiosk.

• PDF player must also be set to false in the xml of the config file:

1. Close the SiteKiosk configuration wizard.
2. Right-click your configuration file and open with Notepad. The default location for configuration files is "C:\Program Files\SiteKiosk\Config".
3. Press Ctrl+f and search for <filter enabled="true" player="pdf"
4. Change "true" to "false" like this

<filter enabled="false" player="pdf"

Save your changes and test in SiteKiosk.
