Support Request: sitekiosk and touchscreen

Dear Support,

OS: windows 8.1 x64
Sitekiosk version 8.85.2082

When using sitekiosk and windows 8.1, everything works fine within IE11 (desktop version), the touch behaviour works as expect. When we slide our finger up and down, the page scroll up and down.

But somehow the same behaviour doesnt work when we use our site with sitekiosk, when we slide our finger up and down, it select the text / image instead of page scrolling.

I have also try it with the webbrowsercontrolbrowser, it also select text/image if i test our site.

Can someone advise / help with this issue?

Hello,

Some touch screen events that are supported in the Internet Explorer are not supported in the Internet Explorer Webbrowser Control but generally you also can slide the web page displayed in SiteKiosk up & down.

Therefore (and even it happens in the Webbrowser Control test application) this problems seems to be caused by the web page code in combination with the Webbrowser Control.

You may update to the most current SiteKiosk version and try out the new “Chrome Fullscreen Browser” Skin that is based on Chromium and not IE Webbrowser Control.

Please note that you can update for free within 12 months after buying your license. After that time period you need to buy an update to use a newer version.

Alternatively you may try out different compatibility view modes with SiteKiosk (in Internet Explorer you can use F12 key to find out which IE version the web page is designed for):

Otherwise you need to check the code of the web page and make it compatible with IE Webbrowser Control.

Hi, I have the same problem using "Chrome Fullscreen Browser" mode, ie touch events do not work but they do work on normal chrome when sitekiosk is not running.

Hello,

When using the Chromium based skins you need to enable the option “Allow zoom gesture” at “-->Start Page & Browser-->Customize-->Settings”.
