Description

Hi support,

We have an application running as an kiosk app (.exe) see attachment, but after some time it shutdown by itself. We had made a button there start the application again, but anything we can do here?

A little annoying that the program is closed down by itself.

Hello,

There is no known issue. But note: When adding an external application to the SiteKiosk configuration (-->Applications) it will be closed on SiteKiosk logout and screen saver activation by default.

But you can enable the checkbox “Start application automatically” at “-->Applications-->Add/Edit”.
This will launch the program automatically 10 seconds after SiteKiosk starts.
This option will also close and restart the program when the screensaver comes on and turns off, while closing and restarting it when a session ends and is resumed before and after a logout, respectively.
If enabled, this option will hide the program in the Start menu or the Applications page in the SiteKiosk browser. If you do want to display the program in these areas, create a second entry without specifying the automatic start options.

If you want an external application to run permanently you should create a script instead of adding the exe to the SiteKiosk configuration.

Hi,

The screensaver is turned total off, no screensaver at all to, but the application close. If you start it normal in Windows, its run forever?

I had created an buttuom in the uper corner, to start the .exe file manuel.

Can you see something from the config file I have attached?

We only need 1 application running on the kiosk, a self check-in software :-)
It start automaticly on startup, and no scrrensaver/logout at all. Then we need to start it manuel again/or restart the PC.

Hello,

In that case you should add the EXE a second time at “-->Applications-->Add” and enable the checkbox “Start application automatically”

Alternatively remove the application from the SiteKiosk configuration and create a script that makes sure that the application is always executed.

Note that there is a daily system restart setup at "Maintenance" in the SiteKiosk configuraiton.
This doesn't matter anymore if you enable the "Start program automatically" option or use a script.
