Support Request: Website Authentication

Description

Hello,

The users that watch over the sitekiosk PCs are wondering if there is way to authenticate sites as they go. Instead of them always having to be manually added each time they run into a block.

I saw a feature that I thought was it, but not sure how to set up. Is this possible? Example: users try to go to www.target.com - comes back blocked - but a password can be entered to authenticate it and automatically add it to the list.

Thanks,

Harold

Hi Harold,

Thank you for your inquiry. There is a feature to grant access to a website after authentication but this feature does not add the websites to a permanent list. Based on your goal, you will need to test all the links possible your users will need access. Then go to the log files to verify what sites were blocked. Then you will create a text tile (*.txt) with the list of addresses (each address on a new line), your users will need access. Please note the text will be verified against each line item, so you can employ a wildcard mask (*). Please see our Help File - Surfing Area section 2 - https://www.provisio.com/helpconsole/SiteKiosk%20Help/en-US/default.htm?surfing_area.htm

Recommended file locations -
Address list can be stored here - C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\Xml\
Log files can be found here - C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\Logfiles\ (yyyy-mm-dd.txt)

Best regards,
Andre.
