Support Anfrage: Can't close SiteKiosk looping

Beschreibung

We are increasingly having issues with SiteKiosk behaving erratically on new installations. We've been using the program for 5+ years with great success. But, on new installations, we are having issues where we can't get logged out of SiteKiosk and return to the non-secured User ... it just keeps looping back into protected/locked mode. We're now at 3 computers behaving this way. One of our new installations just goes to a black screen! Our Lead Developer has contacted you about this ... but it's still an issue ... a BIG one!

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. Based on the issues you described, it seems that SiteKiosk is unable to make changes on your computer (mostly in registry). This would happen in a domain network with very strong restrictions and considering SiteKiosk replaces the explorer.exe shell with SiteKiosk.exe, it would warrant that alarm. See: https://www.sitekiosk.com/helpconsole/SiteKiosk%20Help/en-US/default.htm?select_starting_mode.htm

Black screen in Auto Start mode is mostly caused by your security software or domain policies. You will need to make an exception of mainly C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\SiteKiosk.exe, based on recent feedback. If that is not enough, you may also need to consider these other executables as well:

-The main browser with IE Skin needs the "SiteKiosk.exe" in the SiteKiosk folder while the Chrome Skin also needs other EXE files located in "…\SiteKiosk\Chomium" and "...SiteKiosk\SiteKioskNG".
- Furthermore SiteKiosk starts a software watchdog (Watchdog.exe).
-Also some services must run before SiteKiosk starts (skpcdsvc.exe, SiteRemoteClientService.exe and SiteKiosk.ContentServiceClient.exe).

Nevertheless, the issue that you are having is not normal and is not caused by the SiteKiosk software as SiteKiosk depends on the Windows system. There are no known issues, where SiteKiosk would cause this on its own. We will need more information on your case, please send to support-america(at)sitekiosk.com:

-Configuration - C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\Config (*.skcfg files, ignore *.skcfg.local)
-SiteKiosk Log files - C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\Logfiles (yyyy-mm-dd.txt files)
- Hardware and OS specs like Windows 10 Enterprise or Pro
-A zip file of SiteKioskNG.log - C:\Users\<your running user>\AppData\Local\Temp (generates when SiteKiosk runs.)
-Windows Event Viewer logs (Application and System) for that day.
-A Screenshot of installed programs.

Best regards,
Andre.
