After setting up a new kiosk the attached error appears everytime the kiosk is restarted. What can be done?

Hello,

SiteKiosk does block the Edge Browser for security reasons and you need to make sure that is not started on user logon by checking corresponding Windows settings..

You can check any of these options to prevent the Edge from starting automatically:
- Open Task manager > Startup Tab
Look for Microsoft Edge then Disable

- Press Start then search Settings
Select Accounts. >Click Sign in Options.
Scroll all the way down and turn off "Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device after an update or restart,"

- Press WIN+R to open Run
Type in shell:startup then hit Enter.
Look for Edge inside the folder then delete it.

You may also check this while logged in as SiteKiosk user (used in Auto Start Mode) in case it is a user dependent setting. Here the information about how to get access:

If you have further information about why the Edge browser started suddenly on your Windows system, please let us know. We have recently received frequent messages about this, but unfortunately, we can't reproduce this behavior on our test systems (all of which are up to date).

All in all, SiteKiosk blocks the Edge browser so that it cannot be used to browse the Internet freely.

Having the same issue, tried the suggested fixes, doesn't solve the problem.

which SiteKiosk version do you use?

Otherwise you need to find out form where the edge is started (SiteKiosk doesn’t start the Edge by default) and disable it.

I tried all the above + different reg. db. Changes + settings inside Edge (don't allow background processes - don't allow preload of tabs and startpage etc). None worked. I finally unintalled Edge Chromium using some PoSh commands I found. That did the trick.
