Support Request: SK / Page Freeze

Description

We are running a 3rd party web application that has some java script running on the page with a timer that counts down. We go from page to page answering questions, and we are seeing intermittent freezes of the application where the submit button no longer works, and the javascript for the timer halts.

Site Kiiosk stops working / hangs completely as we can't click the home button or right click to go back or do anything.

The only option at that point is to escape out of site kiosk and restart it. We ran it in debug mode with the Everything level of the log running and nothing was seen when this occured.

If we stay in the hung state long enough we get the following error SiteKiosk.CefApp.exe is not responding.
We can also see this in the windows event logs with the Service Request Information Privileges: SeTcbPrivilege.

Looking at the forums there are some mentions of the ie8 compatability mode. We were set to true on that flag and are thinking about changing it to false.

We are set to Chrome browser tab, but it sounds like the browser is actually some mish mash controlled app. Most of the problems that look similar were from 2015 when IE was still supported.

We typically have 8 to 10 people working for about a 1-2 hour session in the kiosk and we see somewhere around 10% of the folks run into the freeze while the other 90% are fine.

We are running the same SK config file for everyone and they are all performing the same actions via an online test / survey.

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. When it comes to JavaScript errors, it is hard to say what the true cause is, until we can do some tests locally. Is there a way we can replicate this?

This is a Public Forum. You may need to send more details by email to "support-america(at)sitekiosk.com" referencing this post. You will send:

- Configuration - C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\Config (*.skcfg files, ignore *.skcfg.local)
- SiteKiosk Log files - C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\Logfiles (yyyy-mm-dd.txt files)
- Steps to replicate the issue

Best regards,
Andre.
