Support Request: Keyboard disappears on text fields

Reproduction

Open https://paiement.dynacite.fr/paiement
on Sitekiosk restricted user with "Provisio French dock" keyboard

Click on buton "Continuer"

The focus is set to the text field "Dossier de facturation". But "Ramdonly, the keyboard disappears.

Hi,
I have an issue on our payment web site (URL https://paiement.dynacite.fr/paiement) : The keyboard disappears randomly even if the focus is on a text field. The application is then unusable.

My environment :
- SiteKiosk 9.8.5779 on Windows 10
- Chrome Version 91.0.4472.77 (Build officiel) (64 bits)
- IE 1809
- No physical keyboard and mouse
- Touchscreen ELO ET2294L
- Virtual keyboard "Provisio French Docked" (but problem with other keyboards also)
- Random issue

1) Do you have a solution or workaround for that problem ?
2) Is there a way to always make the virtual keyboard visible, not only on text fields ? And also after the activation of the screen saver ?

NB : Unchecking the option "Show onscreen keyboard automatically when text input is required" is not convenient for us. Because the users have to click a button in order to show the keyboard and we don't want that.

Hello,

Unfortunately, we have noticed that the current SiteKiosk version 9.8.5779 with Chrome browser skin may cause problems when using the on-screen keyboard via the touchscreen if one of the following actions has been performed:
- Opening and closing the exit dialog
- PDF was opened
- typing into the URL address bar
- external application (e.g. Notepad) was used
- user authentication dialog (for accessing a restricted web page) was opened


The workaround until we publish the next version would be to go back one SiteKiosk version and use version 9.8.5745.
I have tested it with this version and here everything works again as usual.

Before the installation you should uninstall the current version (with the normal uninstallation the license and the configuration remain).

f you want to be 100% sure you can proceed as follows:
1. Backup the SiteKiosk configuration file(s) under "...\SiteKiosk\Config"
2. Uninstall the current SiteKiosk version (-->Control Panel-->Programs and Features)
3. Restart the computer
4. Install the SiteKiosk version 9.8.5745



To display the keyboard "Provisio French Docked" always maximized you can edit/customize the file "provisio_french_docked.xml" in the directory "…\SiteKiosk\Skins\Provisio\french".

Example (without further free support) - In the XML, delete the area responsible for the minimized keyboard (line 3 up to and including line 46):

to
</subkeydef>

Then only the maximized keyboard can be displayed.

Hi, does this issue remains? i'm facing an issue with Gmail access and i want to try the latest version of Sitekiosk but first i need to know if the issue with disappearing keyboard is still open.

Hello,

that issue is still open. An fixed version is expected in the next 2-4 weeks.Until then you may use SiteKiosk 9.8.5745.
