Support Request: Export SiteCaster Projects to SiteKiosk.Online

Description

Hello Amazing Staff at Provisio // SiteKiosk // SiteRemote // SiteCaster // SiteSite.

I have been experimenting with the new system sitekiosk.online. I very much like the way things are handled and how swift and dependable it operates. I have several requests, of which I figured I would outline here in priority order. Thanks for your timely response!

I have 20+ machines with 20+ different projects // sequence of slides and webpages and timed images for digital signage. I would love to be able to export one, two three or all of them from the exiting sitecasterCMS setup and import into the sitekiosk.online account. Can I do this myself? Can someone do it for me? My existing username is "[Obfuscated by admin]" when logging into "https://www.siteremote.net/sitecastercms/".
The new account I setup on "sitekiosk.online" is username "[Obfuscated by admin]". I registered a couple machines and have some random content running, but I would love to have the project and media library from the sitecastercms for “[Obfuscated by admin]” which is assigned to machine "[Obfuscated by admin]" available to me in sitekiosk.online.

Do you have any templates or code available for use with displaying streaming content in a hd display format? The streaming content could be live/captured digital antennae broadcast or web browser authentication (ie Amazon Prime or Hulu) displayed within a zone or field of the display, but I would have a sequence of slides playing alongside the stream.

Thank You!

Hello Brian,

Thank you for trying SiteKiosk Online and reaching out! You can transfer your SiteCaster projects over but there are a few adjustments you have to make to your project, when you do. Below are the steps:

Follow first steps 1-6, here for your SiteCaster project ZIP: https://devblog.provisio.com/post/2020/04/22/Create-a-new-project-template-from-an-existing-project.aspx

Then you follow these steps for SiteKiosk Online imports:
1. Login to SiteKiosk Online and click on Projects
2. Click on Import Projects button and select your zip file.
3. Click on the newly imported project to open it, then navigate to Settings >>Project; there, you change the project name to something suitable.
4. Click on Settings>>Content and change the Zoom property from 1% to 100%.
5. Click on Settings>>Client>>User Interface and change the User Interface Zoom to 100%
6. Double click on each "News Item" element and in Properties >>Content >>Headline, change the Text Block Alignment to "Center".
7. Review final presentation resolution for the target device with View>>"Resolution/Zoom".

For second question, if this works for SiteCaster, it should work for SiteKiosk Online. You would add webpage elements to a "Sequence" container (nested containers are allowed). The webpage elements would have the web address to the necessary stream (normally you can pull this from an iframe in a website).

Regarding copyrighted or protected streams (Amazon Prime, Hulu, local web connected cams, etc), they may require some sort of sign-in and so would require JavaScript coding to accomplish this. You may need a paid customization to accomplish this with SiteKiosk Online if the websites would allow it. Considering we are in a Public Forum; you can email us more details of the idea you have to "support-america(at)sitekiosk.com", referencing this post.

Best regards,
Andre.
