Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. SiteKiosk 9.7 is out of support, further assistance will be based on 9.9.6014.

This message applies to a strong password policy setup on your Windows system or within the domain. During the installation of SiteKiosk the installer creates the restricted SiteKiosk Windows user account. If you have configured your Windows system that only strong password will be accepted the SiteKiosk user account can’t be created and you will get this notification with the information about how to proceed.

You can install SiteKiosk with a password of your choice by installing SiteKiosk through the command line of Windows (cmd.exe) and using the parameters when installing SiteKiosk.

SiteKiosk9.exe /V"DEFAULTPASSWD=YourPassword12345!"

Then the installer will create the SiteKiosk user account with the given password.

Best regards,
Andre.

For the 'fix', where do I put the SiteKiosk9.exe /V"DEFAULTPASSWD=YourPassword12345!"
If I try to run that in a cmd prompt, it does nothing and will give error message every time.
What would the steps be to run, SiteKiosk9.exe /V"DEFAULTPASSWD=YourPassword12345!"

Hello,

What error messages are you getting? What was not included was the path of installation file. Say if the file is in your Downloads folder, you can "cd" command there or list it explicitly. If the installation file name is different you would get an error message too.

File name (assuming): Sitekiosk9.exe
Path/location (assuming): C:\Users\<myuser>\Downloads\
Command would be: "C:\Users\<myuser>Downloads\Sitekiosk9.exe" /V"DEFAULTPASSWD=YourPassword12345!"

In the example in my first response the "K" in "SiteKiosk9.exe" was capitalized. Command Prompt is case sensitive and any difference in the file name or path is duly protested. If there is a space character (" ") in the file name or folders along the path, then you need to encapsulate the path of the file in double quotes (").

Best regards,
Andre.
