Support Request: Secure input type file with SK File Manager

Description

Hello,

On our self-service kiosk, we need to allowed the uploading file on a website with an input type file (form field).
Is there a method to intercept the system open file window and just open the SK File Manager ?

Thanks

Hello,

I'm sorry, but this is not possible. SiteKiosk opens the Windows "Open" dialog like other browsers when uploading a file. There is no SiteKiosk setting to change this.
SiteKiosk can only allow or block this window (https://www.sitekiosk.com/eu/web/CustomerSupportCenter/ArticleDetails.aspx?ArticleID=5676), but has no further influence on the dialog itself.

Please also note:
By default, you will not be able to access all folders when SiteKiosk is started within the SiteKiosk user account (used in Auto Start mode) and you will not be able to write to all folders.
If this is not enough, you can set further restrictions using the System Security Wizard (e.g. completely block access to certain folders).
This is realized by setting the corresponding NTFS access rights of the SiteKiosk user.

Hello,

In our project, we can't use the SK user profil.
It's important for us to secure the uploading file feature.
In your opinion, is there an other way to explore ?

We are surprised not to find article on the Dev Blog ; but it's a traditionnal feature of website.

Hope you can help us.

Thanks,

Hello,

In this case, you can / must change the corresponding access right settings on Windows for the Windows user under which you start SiteKiosk.

Michael,

Do you think we can force a directory in this "open file" window and block other ressources ?

In your opinion, where we can find this informations ?

Thanks

Hello,

A trick could be that you upload once a file from the folder which should be shown in this dialog first.
The next time you open it, the same folder should be displayed again.

But as stated: Since this is a Windows "Open" dialog that SiteKiosk has no direct influence on, there are no further SiteKiosk settings for it.
In the SiteKiosk user account, the dialog is restricted by Windows policies and access rights of the Windows user (SiteKiosk), which are set using the System Security Manager.

Otherwise, you would have to contact Microsoft to find out what options there are to influence this dialog (e.g. via Windows policies for Explorer usage / Domain Policies).
