Support Request: JavaScript history.go() method

Description

I am using SiteKiosk to display a website on whose pages there is a button that calls the JavaScript method "history.go(-1)". This works perfectly well when I am in Chrome and not in SiteKiosk. In SiteKiosk, it is as if the history is not being maintained. Is there an option where I can tell SiteKiosk to populate and maintain the history.

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. Whether you are using SiteKiosk Online or SiteKiosk Classic, this JavaScript code works just fine. However, if you open a New Tab (or new window for Fullscreen mode), if tabs are allowed, then the history will start from none. You will have to go back to the first tab to find previous history.

There are some settings where new windows/tabs are directed to main window. That can be looked at as some websites do not operate well with that setting. You can find in Configuration>>Start Page and Browser >>Chrome Browser>>Customize>>Settings.

If you set or allow the idle time to delete user data, then you will not find any history after that event.

Can you describe a specific page or case where you observed this issue?

Best regards,
Andre.

In Chrome, start on the page:

https://bor.rcememuseum.ca/en-ca/Search?kiosk=yes

Click on the "Search" button. You will see a long list of names on the "Results" page. Click on "View" for any of the names. This takes you to the "Member" page. In Chrome, if I click on the "Back to Search Results", I get back to the "Results" page with the full list of names.

In SiteKiosk, use the following page as your start page:

https://bor.rcememuseum.ca/en-ca?kiosk=yes

Click on "Search" in the main nav. Click on the "Search" button and click on "View" for any of the names. Clicking on the "Back to Search Results" gets you back to the Results page but the list of names is now empty.

Hello,

Thank you for the steps. I am able to replicate this only for SiteKiosk Classic Windows. It is not an issue with keeping history records but something else. I will submit this for additional review and let you know in about 2 business days from now.

Best regards,
Andre.
