Support Request: Sitekiosk does not start as it should

Description

Good morning,
I have a problem with sitekiosk version 9.9.5895.
I installed it on a clean windows 11 machine.

I went into configuration and set:
- PASSWORD - Exit sitekios - ESC
- SET PASSWORD - inserted password - inserted secondary password
- START PAGE & BROWSER - Chrome browser set - Home page set (see attachment)

When I start sitekios (start once) my pc desktop appears (with the design of the safe and no icon) with the toolbar
As soon as I click somewhere on the desktop the toolbar disappears and I start spinning the wheel.
From this point on I can't do anything except turn off the pc with the power button.
Not even the ESC key (and no combination of keys) allows me to exit the program.

What am I missing?
Thank you
Mara

Hello,

SiteKiosk Version 9.9.5895 is generally out of support but in regards to your description you only see the Watchdog background and SiteKiosk doesn’t really start.
This issue can occur if you have reactivated the Windows account "Administrator" (with the name Administrator) and start SiteKiosk in this account.

If you want to use the "Start Once" mode you need to start SiteKiosk within another admin account or use the "Auto Start" mode to start SiteKiosk in the SiteKiosk user account.

Otherwise I only know of 2 other specific cases where a problem may occur when starting SiteKiosk (also applies to Start once):

1. SiteKiosk was installed without the appropriate Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable (only happens if you use the MSI file instead of SiteKiosk9.exe)
2. You are connected via Windows Remote Desktop at that time.

If none of these cases apply there is maybe any other security tool installed (e.g. Antivirus) or domain/group policy set that prevents the startup of SiteKiosk?

If you want to update SiteKiosk, please see here:

Works!!!!
I then used a user who was not administrator but who had administrative rights.
Thank you
