Support Request: Windows 11 Start Menu (swipe) enabled in Auto Start Kiosk mode.

Description

On Windows 11, in Kiosk Auto Start mode, I can swipe the bottom of the screen to retrieve the windows start menu. This should not be able to be done. I can disable swiping in the group policy, but this causes some of the Kiosk app I have enable not to launch. Is there any configuration or other workaround for this?

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. This is a purely Windows setting, depending on your device (mostly Surface or other Windows tablet devices). Instead of going through your domain policy, you can try a local only option, where you may have to create this entry and set it to 0 in registry.

Excerpt from the web: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/disable-screen-edge-swipe-in-windows-10
----
In the Registry Editor window, navigate to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\EdgeUI

In case you don’t find the EdgeUI key on the respective location, you need to create it.

To do that, right-click on Software and select New > Key. Name the new key as EdgeUI and hit enter to save it.

Next, right-click on the EdgeUI folder and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value. In the right pane, name the new key AllowEdgeSwipe and hit Enter.

Double-click AllowEdgeSwipe, set the value data 0, and then click the OK button to save the changes.
----

Note: you may find some or most traditional settings from Windows 10, are still available in Windows 11.

Hopefully this helps,
Best regards,
Andre.
