FAQ: Gmail / Google Mail login in SiteKiosk

Beschreibung

Starting with SiteKiosk 9.8 it is no longer necessary to edit the configuration file to access Gmail:
https://www.provisio.com/en-US/Downloads/VersionHistory.aspx?Product=SiteKiosk
(But using the Chrome Browser skin is still required)

SiteKiosk 9.x versions before 9.8:
Generally you need to use the Chrome Browser skin to be able to login to Gmail as the IE Webbrowser Control is not supported.
But apparently Google has also excluded all Chromium CEF browsers from Gmail login.

If you get the message “Couldn't sign you in…This browser or app may not be secure…Try using a different browser.” when you try to login to Gmail in SiteKiosk with Chrome Browser skin (as is currently the case - status Dec 2019) the current workaround with SiteKiosk is to send a user agent from another browser supported by Gmail.
It e.g. works when using the User Agent of the Chromium Edge browser with the corresponding version of Chromium CEF integrated in SiteKiosk. (Feb 2020)

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/76.0.3809.132 Safari/537.36 Edg/79.0.309.71

Here's the information on how to add it to SiteKiosk:
https://devblog.provisio.com/post/2017/02/20/Changing-the-User-Agent-of-the-SiteKiosk-Windows-Chrome-Browser.aspx

Example:
Open your SiteKiosk configuration with an editor as described in the DevBlog article and search for the following lines (lines 1145-1147):

"userAgent": {
    "enabled": false,
    "full": "",

Then add the user agent like this:

"userAgent": {
    "enabled": true,
    "full": "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/76.0.3809.132 Safari/537.36 Edg/79.0.309.71",

If you want to check the user agent that is used in the browser you can use this page (press "Try it" button to check):
