Support Request: jQuery 1.5.1 Failure

Reproduction

Description

Calling either of those files (both jQuery 1.5.1) from a webpage in SiteKiosk instantly causes all remaining JavaScript on that page to silently fail. This does not occur in IE 8 itself, only in SiteKiosk. There is no script error either in the SiteKiosk log (set to log level 0) or Windows Application log. This issue was repeatable for us on 5 OS's: Windows XP, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows 7 32-bit, Windows 7 64-bit.

The only solution was to revert to jQuery 1.5.0 on our internal pages or find a page which used 1.5.0 or lower. The Google CDN is one of the most widely used jQuery sources today, so this could potentially affect a lot of people. Please let me know if you can use more information.

Hello,

Generally the SiteKiosk Browser just uses the Microsoft Internet Explorer Webbrowser Control of the installed Internet Explorer version.

Since SiteKiosk 7.7 the “IE8 compatibility view” for SiteKiosk will be activated automatically and by default.

There is generally no known issue but when using jQuery it might is necessary to disable it?

When using the actual verision 7.7 you can change it by editing the SiteKiosk configuration file (…\SiteKiosk\Config\YourConfig.skcfg).

Search for the line:

<ie8-compatibility-view enabled="true"/>

And change the value to “false”

<ie8-compatibility-view enabled="false"/>
