Support Request: Site Remote problem

Reproduction

Hi,
When I try to directly edit a configuration file on a remote kiosk via Site Remote I receive the following error:
Exception during client-side job
Further to this, the SK config file on the client becomes either corrupt or disappears completely. This has happened on both occasions when I have tried to remotely update a configuration. I cannot find anything out of the ordinary within the error logs.
Regards
Craig

Hello,

We have no feedback from any other customer about a problem like this (and changing a configuration is one of the main features used in SiteRemote). You might describe step by step what you have done to get this behaviour then we can try to reproduce it.

General note:
The editor in SiteRemote allows you to directly modify the raw XML of a Remote Client configuration. Incorrect use of the editor will cause serious problems – the usage is at your own risk.

Alternatively you can download and install SiteKiosk and then use the configuration wizard to create a “proper” configuration (SiteKiosk doesn’t need to be registered for that) and upload the configuration then.
You should use the same version and shouldn’t e.g. upload a configuration from version 7.5 to a terminal running version 6.6.
Older versions can be downloaded from our version history:
http://www.provisio.com/en-US/Downloads/VersionHistory.aspx?Product=SiteKiosk

Pease also note that a new SiteKiosk configuration is not active if you just have uploaded / changed it.
SiteKiosk reads the configuration on start-up of the SiteKiosk Browser.
