Support Request: can´t open http://localhost/administration

Reproduction

Description

Good afternoon,

Yesterday we had a problem with the server, and because of this we have removed one of the RAM modules.
Since then we can not access http://localhost http://localhost/administration or http://localhost

may be because the software detects a change in the hardware of the machine?

thanks in advance

Hello,

Generally there is no issue like this when adding or removing RAM modules.

- What exactly happens when you try to access the SiteRemote web pages?
- Can you access the web pages from outside?
- Did you check if the SiteRemote Server service is up and running?
(-->Start-->Run-->services.msc)
- Which information is displayed in the Windows Event log?

whe I try to acess to Siteremote web pages, it say page not found, or the connection has been restarted
I can´t access anyway, not from inside, not from outside
yes, I check the service and its running ( with the siteremote console, I can see the log and appears working)
In the Windows Event Log there are no errors messages...

Is It possible to change the siteremote to a new server? wich information have i to backup??

Hello,

Did you check all items in the Event log (e.g. Application / Security / System and Internet Explorer) for the time span you tried to open the web page?
What if calling the SiteRemote Administration page through the Windows Start menu while logged on as Administrator to the SiteRemote machine?

You may check if the Internet Information server (IIS) on that system is up and running and/or if someone has changed any settings in the IIS.
SiteRemote just used the “Default Web Site” in the IIS (by default).
e.g. check if the “Default Web Site” is running and if you can access it via IIS (right mouse click -->Browse)
You may also recycle the “DefaultAppPool” (IIS --> Application Pools --> DefautAppPool -->right mouse click --> Recycle) and clear the browser cache before trying to access the web page again.

Or maybe it is just a timing issue and by removing the RAM modules the system is slower and Windows can’t start all required services in the appropriate time?
What if adding the RAM modules again?

Restoring the server should be the last option and you better find out what has changed that causes this issue.
But a general description about how to backup and restore SiteRemote you will find at the end of this PDF:
http://www.provisio.com/Download/brochures/siteremote-3-server-install-en.pdf

The description is for SiteRemote 3 but for SiteRemote 2 it is generally the same (but please note that 64 Bit systems, Windows 2008 and IIS7 are not supported with SiteRemote 2 / System Requirements SR2: http://www.provisio.com/Download/brochures/siteremote2-server-en.pdf)
