Support Request: Error on credit card payment but still charging

Reproduction

Any Credit Card transaction (VISA/Mastercard in particular as that is all we accept).

Description

For every VISA/Mastercard transaction attempted, the guest gets an error message, no kiosk time, and is still charged for it. The zip file contains the config file, logs and a screenshot of the error from one of our kiosks - the same error is occurring on all 20 kiosks we have in the field. We are also using sitecafe 2.6 (restarting this does not make a difference). I could not find anything helpful in the logs. We are using a custom front page, however I have set up a kiosk here at the office with default settings (only changes are adding our DPS account and sitecafe server details in order to make a test transaction) and am having the exact same issue. I now suspect this is a bug with sitekiosk. Please help :)

Hello,

This is not a bug of SiteKiosk because the DPS Payment Express payment processing gateway provider has made some recent changes to their gateway.
The gateway provider did change the gateway response when making a transaction.
That is the reason why the credit card will be charged but the balance not transferred to SiteKiosk.

This will be fixed with the next SiteKiosk version 8.5 (planned to be published at the end of October).

For a quicker solution we can also send a new dll that you can implement to SiteKiosk already.
But in that case you need the current SiteKiosk version 8.2.797:

In case you are interested in the dll just send me a note.

Beside the issue with the DPS Gateway you should also check the code of your script “CreditCard.js” because it does throw a script error:
[SiteKiosk] Script Error: URL: file:///C:/Program%20Files/SiteKiosk/Skins/Public/Startpages/Vistagate/Scripts/CreditCard.js; ErrMsg: "'Dialog' is undefined"; Line: 751; Char: 2; Code: 0;

Thank You Michael,

Unfortunately we are not currently in a position to upgrade to version 8, as we currently have approximately 20 kiosks around the country that are all suffering from this issue; We need a fix now - we will look at upgrading further down the track as there are other factors to consider such as our customized pages which may not integrate directly into version 8.

Can you provide a fix for 7.8.332? Bearing in mind that this version is only just over a year old and realistically should still be supported by Provisio (particularly in this case where DPS has made a change that has broken the interface).

Kind Regards,

Hello Jason,

Generally we always provide fixes for the most current version of SiteKiosk.
If you have bought the SiteKiosk license since March 2011 you can update for free to the version 8.x.
http://www.provisio.com/en-US/Downloads/Download.aspx?ItemId=1

I have asked a developer about using the dll with SiteKiosk version 7.8.332:
It has not been tested extensively but generally works with SiteKiosk 7.8.332 when you install the “Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)” (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555) before.

But because you need to make a software installation on all systems also when staying with version 7.8.332 I would advice to immediately update to SiteKiosk 8.2.797 (just install the new version over the existing version 7.8.332).

Thank you for your response Michael,

I will try my luck with the DLL as our licences are all older than March 2011.

Hello Jason,

The e-mail with the dll to fix the changes of the DPS Payment Express payment processing gateway has just been send via e-mail.
Please note:
We just did make a short check with SiteKiosk 7.8.332 and did not test it extensively with that version (because usually it is only supported with 8.2.797 higher).
If you have further issues using the gateway with SiteKiosk 7.8.332 you need to update to version 8.2.797 or wait for the version 8.5 which will be released at the end of October.
