Support Request: Logon User Interface DLL

Reproduction

Some of my kiosk machines are getting a User Interface Failure when starting. These machines are running Windows XP, Symantec Endpoint Protection 12, Novel Zenworks 10 and 11 and have had Novel Client 4.91 uninstalled.

Do you have any information on the attached error? The message comes up when starting the computer. We are using AutoLogon with the SiteKiosk user account.

The error message states:

User Interface Failure:
The Logon User Interface DLL msginaextension.dll failed to load.

Contact your system administraotr to replace th eDLL, or restore the original DLL.

I found that if you delete this registry key, the issue goes away:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\WinLogon.

In the right pane, right click on the entry for GinaDLL (msginaextension.dll) and select Delete

The dll is not from SiteKiosk and is not related to our products.

Here is an article from the Microsoft Knowledge base regarding your error:

Thank you for the information. Although the link was informational, it did not resolve this issue. Again, thanks for the information.
