Support Request: Cultuur wordt niet ondersteund (Culture not supported)

Dear sir, madam,


We recently purchased 1 license for SiteKiosk 8.

We did a clean install of Windows XP SP3, updated it entirely. Then we installed the latest SiteKiosk version, available for download on your website. After that, we ran Microsoft Update again for the required .NET installation that the SiteKiosk initiated (version info of .NET: see attachment).

When we try to configure SiteKiosk, the program seems to load but then halts at the exception (see attachment).

What is your suggestion for a workaround or fix?

Hello,

Unfortunately there was no attachment.

With SiteKiosk 8.0 there was a problem / bug related to missing .net cultures when starting the configuration tool.
But that has been fixed since SiteKiosk 8.1 and there is no known issue with the current versions.
Please first make sure that you use the latest SiteKiosk Version:

If you use the actual SiteKiosk version 8.6:
Generally the error means the reported code is not known to the Microsoft culture base.

Therefore it may apply to an issue related to a .NET 2 update?

Here I found another entry at the MSDN forum about a not supported culture:

They state that a re-installation of .Net will help (in that case you should also reinstalls SiteKiosk).
But you should first try the first option which is officially provided by Microsoft.

If the above hints won’t help you may send us the exact error message, the information which other software products are installed and which language is chosen on the Windows Region and Language settings via e-mail.

For other customers:
This problem applies to a special language issue (currently only known with Dutch (Belguim)).

It will be fice with the next version of SiteKiosk.
