Which OS version are you using? Are you running the most recent version SiteKiosk 8.6.1251? Before the issue occurs you can see the content playing in the SiteKiosk screensaver but then when you use the mouse or keyboard the screensaver deactivates and it shows the SiteKiosk start page with the start menu that is all black correct? Then you have use the mouse again to get rid of the black screen correct. Is it just the start menu or the entire start menu and taskbar? Are you using the sleep/wake functions under SiteKiosk maintenance at all? Can you replicate this issue using a default SiteKiosk configuration file?

Win8 6.2 Build 9200
SiteKisok 8.6 Build 1251

I am not using sleep/wake functions, Have not been able to replicate under default config but problem is intermittent.

SK awakes from screen saver, which works as it''s supposed to, into a browser environment. The area where the HTML is displayed works fine, but the entire menu bar at the top and task bar at the bottom is sometimes completely blacked out. Running a mouse over these areas sometimes causes them to redraw, and minimizing and maximizing the menu bar causes it to redraw.

Please make sure that Windows is fully updated. Which IE version are you running? Since you are not able to replicate the issue with a default configuration file, you might try rebuilding your configuration with a default file.

You mentioned that the task bar is blacked out but in the configuration file you attached the task bar is hidden. Is the configuration file you attached the one you replicated the issue with? I have been testing with that file and have not yet replicated the issue.
