Support Request: VOIP SKYPE SIP pbm

Description

Hello,

SiteKiosk Version 8.91

I used an SIP account from a provider and everything was ok except an echo during the call (and no way to stop it by changing configuration params).
I then tried to use a Skype SIP account, but if the SitePhone windows pop up as usual, there is no call this time !
The Skype SIP account is activated and works fine.
The SiteKiosk VOIP configuration seems to be good (it worked with my former account).

What I am missing ?

Hello,

Did you check that the Skype SIP account works properly with other SIP client software (e.g. X-Lite)?

The integrated Voip Feature in SiteKiosk is based on an external SDK from PortSIP:

All available settings are configurable through the SiteKiosk configuration tool:

You may also check the Skype SIP account with using their PortGo Softphone software for Windows:

Hello,

I tested the VOIP with PortGo softphone (based on the SDK used by Sitekiosk) and it works perfectly !
But when I set the same SIP parameters in SiteKiosk (either when enabling options: reduce echo, echo tail, AGC, etc...) we have to face an echo that we can NOT fix.
I tested 2 SIP accounts from differents providers.
I tested 2 differents Internet connections.
I also changed in every way possible the router and firewall configuration to allow every ports and access.

How can you explain that it works perfectly with PortGO softphone and not at all (terrible echo) with siteKiosk ?

Can you please give me an explanation and moreover a solution to make it work !

Hello,

the problem is reproducible with one of the SIP gateways we use for testing. A fix is planned for the next SiteKiosk release, due in a few weeks.

Hello,

I am sorry but there is no precise date available at the moment. The preparations for a new version are still in alpha and have not reached beta, so there is no release date available at this point.
