Support Request: Error when opening files

Description

We have a SiteKiosk machine that when opening PDF, XLS, will occasionally pop up the error "Unable to download <file> . The file could not be written to the cache"
A JPG of this error is included in the attached zip file. This doesn't happen consistently, but during the course of a day, checking the kiosk will appear. A reboot will get it working again.
Using Windows 7 x64, IE10 patched to date, with the version of SiteKiosk noted above.
Has anyone at SiteKiosk technical support seen this type off issue before, or have any recommendations on how to fix this issue?
Thanks

I see the nightly reboot has been removed from the maintenance section, you could try to add that back in to see if it improves performance on your computer.

You can also allow the Internet Explorer download dialog to see if that has any effect. Do the following to use the Internet Explorer download dialog box instead of the SiteKiosk download manager.

1. Right-click your configuration file and open with Notepad.
2. Press Ctrl+F and search for the following line:

<msdownloaddlg-urls />

3. Replace the line you found in step 2 with the following:

<msdownloaddlg-urls>

</msdownloaddlg-urls>

Hi, thanks for replying. In troubleshooting, we reboot and it does work for a little while (a few hours maybe), but during the course of 1 business day, it will start to act up, so enabling nightly reboots won't make a real difference.
With the config file, I looked at it and the entries you recommend are already in there.

Any other suggestions on how we may resolve this?

If that setting is already active, SiteKiosk has very little to do with the download since the IE download dialog handles the download instead of the SiteKiosk download manager.

I am not familiar with this error specifically in regard to SiteKiosk but did a search for the error "The file could not be written to the cache" and found a number or results relating to this general issue in IE. Here are a few of the relevant results as they pertain to IE settings.
