Support Request: Locked Out

Description

Site Kiosk has locked me out of a computer it is installed on. When configuring the Site Kiosk it was set up to automatically log on when started up to prevent people from restarting and accessing the computer. The password for the user account "Site Kiosk" was changed. The password that site kiosk has is not correct and will no allow us to sign in.
Site kiosk appears to have disabled the keyboard when on the log in screen, so I cannot type in the new password. The computer is locked out and will not let us in to fix this issue.

Please advise on a way to access the computer and change this password. The password that the site kiosk thinks is actual is unknown to us. It was set up by an employee who is no longer here and out of touch.

If you are unsure of the password that was setup to close SiteKiosk through the SiteKiosk configuration tool, you can use the master password which is the first eleven characters of your license key (XXXXX-XXXXX).

You should login to the Administrator account at the Windows login screen. You will not need to login to the Windows SiteKiosk user account. If the SiteKiosk keyboard lock has been activatwed, you can press the two emergency key combinations to unlock it. Whenever you press these two key combinations successively when the Windows logon dialog appears, the keyboard lock will be deactivated, and you will be able to use the keyboard again.

The default combinations are:

Key combination 1
Ctrl left + Shift right + Backspace

Key combination 2
Alt left + Shift right + Del

You will have to press the keys of each combination simultaneously.

Thank you very much. The codes worked and I have regained control of the computer.
Thank you again. It was a big help.

The emergency key sequence allows us to log in to the the computer again. However, after reboot, we are still faced with the same problem. The Sitekiosk user is unable to login automatically, and the keyboard doesn't work. If we use the emergency key sequence, we can logon. We can even logon as the Sitekiosk user. But, the auto start settings do not work. How do we fix the auto start settings after changing the sitekiosk user's password?

I was not able to replicate the issue on Windows 7 or Windows 10 with SiteKiosk 9.1.3345.

How did you start SiteKiosk when you ran it in Autostart mode? Do you have strong password requirements on your network? If so, did the password you set meet those requirements? Have you run all available updates for your Windows?
