If you are getting the error “for security reason this action is not allowed”, that means that you do not have downloads allowed under Basic > File Manager or a window or dialog box is being blocked by the SiteKiosk software for security reasons. To allow the window, you may need to edit the settings in the “Windows and Dialogs” settings in the SiteKiosk configuration file. (BASIC > Access/Security > Block system critical windows & dialog boxes)

For testing purposes, you will want to uncheck the option, and test your application and see if it opens properly.

If the above mentioned test allows the software applications to work properly, you will need to isolate which settings in “Windows and Dialogs” are blocking the applications that you are using.

Generally you would navigate to BASIC > Access/Security > Block system critical windows & dialog boxes then click on "settings". Look under the "Window title" column and delete "Open*", "Save*" .

I enable "File Manager & Downloads" and remove "Block system critical windows & dialog boxes" then I get a dialog box with an error.
The dialog box headline is the file name downloaded completed.
in the dialog box I get : An error has occurred. Error code: -2146697209
and below I see the file information.

Please make sure using the most current SiteKiosk version (actually 8.9) and check if you have enabled the checkbox “Display PDF toolbar” at -->Access/Security in the SiteKiosk configuration.

In case the checkbox is enabled, disable it and test it again.

- General notes:
If the PDF will be displayed in the Browser or not depends on the web page which delivers the PDF link and the Adobe Reader settings.
http://helpx.adobe.com/en/acrobat/using/display-pdf-browser-acrobat-xi.html

First make sure that it works in the Internet Explorer and that the PDF will be displayed within the IE.
Then create a new SiteKiosk configuration (to reset your changes) and start SiteKiosk in “Run once” mode for testing.
If that works start SiteKiosk in “Auto Start” mode.
