Support Request: Clarifying licensed version

Description

Hi,

We have three site kiosk licenses. ONe isinstalled on Windows 7. We have two installed on Windows XP, and we would like to upgrade these to Windows 8.

Do our existing licenses cover us for this, or do we need to purchase an upgrade to the latest version?
Thank you

Hello,

Supporting the Windows 7 operating system is not directly a question of the SiteKiosk license you use but of the SiteKiosk version you install.
Generally Windows 7 is supported since SiteKiosk 7.1:
http://www.provisio.com/helpconsole/SiteKiosk%20Help/en-US/default.htm?system_requirements.htm

When installing all Windows 7 updates (what is advised to do) you also need to install an additional patch with older SiteKiosk version (before 8.5) because of IE10 / IE11: http://devblog.provisio.com/post/2013/04/04/Compatibility-Issue-with-SiteKiosk-and-IE10-on-Windows-7-Resolved.aspx

But as far as I can see you purchased your license in 2012 and you can use your license with SiteKiosk up to version 8.8.
The SiteKiosk version 8.8 is supported on Windows 7 (without any patch) and can be downloaded from our version history:
http://www.provisio.com/en-GB/Downloads/VersionHistory.aspx?Product=SiteKiosk
(SiteKiosk 8.8.1686 Final Version)

In case you need further information about your license please contact our sales department:

Thanks for the fast response.

We are looking to jump from XP to 8. It looks like 8.8 supports 8. So to clarify, we can redownloaded the installer for 8.8 final, install this on two Windows 8 machines, and continue to use our existence license keys? (The old machines would be retired so we would still have the same number of machines running the software)

Hello,

Yes that is correct. Just uninstall SiteKiosk on the old machines.
