Support Request: 2 small questions

Description

1.) when i start to update the software to the latest version, a message comes up that says "Remove site kiosk software?" yes/no .... do i need to remove the software to update it?

2.) can i add a link to any web page i want to display as my screen saver?

Normally it is not necessary to remove SiteKiosk before updating. Is the SiteKiosk config tool or start dialog running when you start the installation? What version of SiteKiosk do you have installed? Do you download the installation from our website and just double click the exe to start the install. If you do want to uninstall the previous version first, just make a copy of your configuration file and any customization to use with the new installation.

You can add webpages as your screensaver using the "SiteKiosk Player" option in the configuration tool under >Basic >Screensaver. Click the Settings button to add content.

i have software version 8.91 build 3042 release date 5/6/2015
i clicked on the startup screen link in site kiosk configuration software that says "update available".
it went to your webpage and downloaded the updated version.
i went through the installer and successfully updated the software.

now... there is a problem.
i can't edit my existing configuration file.

i used the windows 8 template to make my own customized kioski screen a couple weeks ago.
it has been working fine for the last week. now when i go into site kiosk configurator i cannot open the file for this configuration.
i select the file (i call it yaskawa-tts) and hit open...
then i choose the windows 8 template and hit the green customize button.
then i click editor
the editor screen opens and it is a fresh template... none of my changes are there.
but...
if i start site kiosk, the kiosk screen that runs is my customized configuration that has been working for the last week.

how do i make change to my existing configuration file after making a software revision update?

We have just release SiteKiosk 9 and it is available for download from our website at http://www.provisio.com/en-US/Downloads/Download.aspx?ItemId=1. Configuration files from older version should work without any additional steps. You can send a copy of your configuration file to ward(at)provisio.com and I will test it.

Regarding your changes to the start screen, did you do a complete uninstall/reinstall of SiteKiosk? The files for the Start Screen skin are stored locally at "C:\Users\Public\SiteKiosk\content".

when i did the previous update, i did not uninstall and restall the software. i just updated it.
just now i went and updated it to version 9 and all seems to be working now.
