Support Request: Keyboard not working on a external application

Description

Hi,

I am using SiteKiosk 8.7, inside SideKiosk I am running an external application that requires to enter some input using virtual keyboard (I am running SK on Windows 8.1, Surface 3). when the external application starts, and I try to type something, the keyboard will popup but when I press any of the keys nothing happens.

Could you please help on solving this issue.

Can you still type into text fields on a web page? What application are you trying to type into? What is the IE version? Did you activate the SiteKiosk on-screen keyboard? Which keyboard did you choose?

I can type on a web page, the problem with this external application called NetSetMan, to manage Wifi connections.
the application itself works perfectly under the restricted user, and I can type with virtual keyboard, but when I am on SiteKiosk, I can't type using the virtual keyboard, but if I use a physical keyboard will work fine without any issue.

Which one of the Keyboards did you select in the SiteKiosk configuration tool? We need to establish exactly which keyboard you are testing with when you say "virtual keyboard"... Is this the on screen keyboard from Windows or SiteKiosk? (PLUS > ON SCREEN KEYBOARD)...


If the SiteKiosk On screen keyboard works as expected on other applications and web pages, then there must be a difference or compatibility issue with the external application you are accessing... >>>>

Are you able to replicate the issue when starting SiteKiosk in Start Once MOde?


Please also note that the SiteKiosk 8.7 is no longer supported and you may try testing this issue in the most currently supported version : SiteKiosk 9.0.3248:

I am using SiteKiosk keyboard.
It's true the on screen keyboard works as expected with with web pages and other applications, I am trying to figure out if there is any settings that I need to change to make On Screen keyboard with this external application, and I am also wondering what's different on this application that won't "accept" input from the on screen keyboard keyboard on SiteKiosk, but will tale input from on screen keyboard outside SiteKiosk.

The keyboard I am selecting from SiteKiosk config is "Windows 8 Touchscreen" but I tried the other keyboards as well.
the same issue is replaceable in SiteKiosk 9.
