Support Request: Browser dies and kiosk must be rebooted

After a period of inactivity, the browser on some kiosks that use the attached config file will die and the screen will go to the grey SiteKiosk "vault" screen. The kiosk can then not be used until rebooted.

Thank you for your inquiry. Please note that SiteKiosk 9.4 or 9.5 is out of support. You should test your website with the newest version of SiteKiosk as the in-built Chromium version difference is great. There is nothing wrong with your configuration file itself (general websites are able to be viewed without an issue).

You can test SiteKiosk for free and without time limit (other restrictions can be found in blue box toward to lower end of the page):

Here is a reference for Chromium versions:
Since SiteKiosk 9.4 - 9.5 = Chromium 55.0.2883.87
Since SiteKiosk 9.8.5779 = Chromium 89.0.4389.90

You can find more release notes on our Version History page:

If you are still experiencing issues after testing the newest version, please send a log file, screenshot and steps to replicate the issue to support-america(at) . Log files can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\Logfiles in the format "yyyy-mm-dd.txt".

Best regards,
