Support Request: SiteRemote compatibility

Description

Hi,

is Sitekiosk Classic v 9.7.4937 fully compatible with Sitecaster 1.6.2.2079 on SiteRemote v 6.4.0.6883?

Im having trouble to downloading content with these logs:

[SiteCaster CMS] error while logging into site remote server: Error: only absolute urls are supported
[SiteCaster CMS] Error while connecting to the websocket server: cannot get remote URL

Hello,

generally, you can also use older SiteKiosk Classic versions with www.siteremote.net but SiteKiosk 9.7 is out of support.

However, these log messages just mean that the client machine cannot connect to SiteRemote Server (for SiteCaster SiteKiosk also uses secure web socket on Port 443).
You may first check if you can open the SiteRemote web page https://www.sitetemote.net and the SiteCaster editor when using another browser on the SiteKiosk machine (Chrome, Edge or Firefox).
If that doesn’t work you need to check the Internet Connection / Firewall settings at the client side (any firewall on the Windows system and between the SiteKiosk computer and the Internet).

Otherwise, you should update to the current SiteKiosk version and create a new SiteKiosk configuration in which you select SiteCaster.

Hi,

All these older machines are using 8086 port.

When I try to register machine over 443 port it does not work.

Probably due old version of chromium in sitekiosk 9.7.

Is there any way how can I update chromium within sitekiosk?

Port 8086 is closed now? I have other machines that are registred over 8086 and are working OK, but they were registred long time ago. Is this port also used for content download or only for registration process?

Hello,

the main communication for SiteRemote is over 8086. But SiteCaster uses 443.

You don't need to register the client via 443 but proceed like I did describe above.

To update chromium you need to update SiteKIiosk 9.7 to 9.9.
