Support Request: Tablet not displaying touchscreen - blank screen

Description

My android tablet had been working fine until recently. Now when I publish my project, everything seems to be fine. However, the table boots as it always has but now it doesn't display my project, only a blank screen. I have no idea why and have been doing everything possible to get it to work again. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. If you are experiencing a blank screen suddenly with your Android device, that has been working all this time, it could mean your Chrome app (relevant System WebView for Android 7 and lower) needs to be updated. You can check the App listing in your Android Settings.

To understand more, please specify:
Device make and model?
Android OS version?
Service in use (SiteKiosk Online or SiteCaster)?

Thank you for the response.

I am using two Samsung Galaxy Views
Android 5.1.1
SiteCaster

I checked the Chrome app and it states that it no longer supports updates for this version of Android. Does this mean I can no longer use these Samsung Views?

Hello,

The web content that you are trying to display with SiteCaster needs an updated browser. And unfortunately, security updates for Android devices tend to be limited to 3-5 years after device release. You will eventually need an updated device. SiteKiosk Classic Android is only specified for Android OS 5-10.

If you are using siteremote.net server, this service will be discontinued by 2026. You can review SiteKiosk Online which supports Android OS 7.0-12 devices. Ideally, you would choose Android 10-12 being the most recent of all the versions. with SiteKiosk Online, you can transfer your SiteCaster project ZIP with section 1 ("export the corresponding project") from this link: https://devblog.provisio.com/post/2020/04/22/Create-a-new-project-template-from-an-existing-project.aspx

Thank you for the quick response.
It appears that these tablets will no longer work with Sitekiosk based upon your response.
These Samsung Views were perfect as touchscreens and will be difficult to replace. It seems I may have to kill the project and move on.

It does seem odd that I can run full websites in Sitekiosk on these tablets beautifully but not what I publish from Sitecaster. If that is working, then why isn't the published project running on the tablet? It doesn't seem to add up.
