Support Request: ScreenSaver - Not displaying local HTML file correctly

Description

hello,

in site kiosk screensaver, we are trying to display a local html file, however, it does not display all content at all. when we open the local html file in chrome or add the local file onto start page of site kiosk, it works fine without issue. is this a bug with sitekiosk. i attached a .zip file with the current config, logfiles, and screen of what the html file looks like when open in chrome and when running in site kiosk screensaver. let us know if you require additional information

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. Generally, SiteKiosk 9.8 is no longer in support. I looked at your files and found no issues with your configuration. You can take a look at these factors:

We always recommended the Html subdirectory is placed in the SiteKiosk program directory (default: "C:\Program Files (x86)\SiteKiosk\Html"), which you have done.

Also, the SiteKiosk Player will continue to use the IE Webbrowser Control to display the web pages in the screen saver. Considering this, you have to make sure that the HTML file, the web page works properly in IE11 (not MS Edge or Google Chrome).

Alternatively, you can use an image or video file that matches your display resolution or local html page that maximizes these files for you.

Otherwise, with SiteKiosk Classic Windows to continue using local HTML file, would be to use SiteCaster as screensaver and add a project with the local webpage path, since SiteCaster also uses the Chromium CEF engine. However, this also requires the "SiteKiosk Cloud - Annual Plan":

Or you can take a look at the new SiteKiosk Online product. There is also a video tutorial for the screensaver: https://www.sitekiosk.com/tutorials/

Best regards,
Andre.

thank you for the reply.

as a test. we decided to host the html code on our server and use its URL and it works fine. does sitekiosk uses a different browser in screensaver when it has to use a local html file?

Hello,

Thank you for the update. The SiteKiosk Player uses IE Webbrowser Control. There should not be a difference unless, there was a resource that was not available on the local device but worked on your server. There are no known issues reported otherwise of this type.

Best regards,
Andre.
