Support Request: SiteKiosk and Summon Question

Description

Hi - we use SiteKiosk to lock down the OPACs we have in our library. Up until previously we have been using a very old version of SiteKiosk (with IE11 under the bonnet). We've finally upgraded to the latest version of SiteKiosk, but we cannot get our Resource Discovery system (Summon), which users use to find books etc, to work properly under the latest SK version.

If we find a book in our library e.g.

https://go.exlibris.link/yHPbfk6W

, and click on the books title a new window is susposed to open with further details of the book. However, the window does open but the page is blank and we are seeing a 500 error. If we do the same outside of SiteKiosk it works prefectly.

We have reported this to Ex Libris who host and develop Summon and they have asked for some http header info and a har file. We are struggling to do this when SiteKiosk is running. I have two questions:

- what's the best way of getting troubleshooting data when running SiteKiosk. We can install http live headers in the browser, but not in SiteKiosks and we don't seem to be able to get a har file either.

- It might not be an issue with Summon, but with SiteKiosk? Can anyone replicate this problem by pointing their Kiosk at the above URL and tring to open the new window?

Any extra info please let me know.

Stephen

Hello,

I have tested it briefly with the current SiteKiosk Classic Windows version 9.9.6466 https://www.sitekiosk.com/eu/sitekiosk-classic-windows-version-history/
and could not find any problem.

The "Quick Look" button displays the overlay with the book information and clicking on the book title opens a new tab where the corresponding information is displayed.

If you have an old SiteKiosk configuration where an IE skin was still used, change the setting to "Chrome Browser" skin (in the SiteKiosk configuration tool under >Start Page & Browser).

Alternatively, create a new configuration.

If this does not help, it is best to update to the current version 9.9.6466.

For troubleshooting purposes, SiteKiosk provides log files under "...\SiteKiosk\Logfiles".

If this is not enough, you can also activate the debug console of the Chromium CEF engine (for the Chrome browser skin, SiteKiosk Classic windows uses a Chromium CEF browser engine installed with SiteKiosk).
