Support Request: Causes custom android app to have issues tapping and performing basic functions like frame navigation

Reproduction

Install sitekiosk 2.1.0 on Elo Touch I series 22 “inch running Android 8.1. Set our application in single application mode and application responds badly or very slow in response.

Description

We have installed the latest SiteKiosk Android 2.1.0 b8503 on our machine Elo Touch I series v3.0. When sitekiosk Android is launched in single
Application mode, our application becomes erratic and in-built frame navigation starts to fail. It is built based on Nativescript 7.0 and it runs fine on the machine without SiteKiosk enabled. We tested another alternative kiosk MDM software scalefusion and have no issues with our application.

Note Anydesk is running in the background and we understand it does not have any detrimental effect on our application, we can use it together with scalefusion lockdown application.

Please advise urgently as this bug has caused our client deployment to fail and put on hold.

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. Android's sandbox mode makes it impossible for one app to influence the others. There is a possibility that both apps together increases the load
on the system so much that this behavior occurs. The only option then, would be to use a device with more power.

Have you tested this on another device (brand and model)?

On Android devices, the performance and stability depends heavily on the Android operating system the vendor installed on the device. A lot of vendors make individual changes to the Android operating system they put on their devices. These changes can have a big impact on performance and stability. For the best test results with SiteKiosk Android, we generally test with Tablet devices making fewer changes to the original Android system from Google.

Despite the statements prior, we will try to replicate the issue you mentioned locally. Could you please provide us an APK of your app? You can send further instructions to support-america(at)provisio.com refencing this online post.

Best regards,
Andre.

Hi, we have tested it on two different touch screens and hardware.
(1) Elo Touch I-series (v2.0 and v3.0) running Android 8.1
(2) ODroid XU4 running Android 5.1
and both producing the same issues.

We tested with other kiosk locking software in single application mode and it does not have this issue with our custom application. ie. Scalefusion, GoKiosk
Can we submit our application to your engineers for troubleshooting?

Is there a performance setting or patch for the SiteKiosk Android version that could resolve the issue?
