Support Request: Windows 11 crash after customized online client installation fails

Description

Fresh windows 11 shuttle pc, downloaded online client installation "Preconfigured installer", isntallation fails halfway and windows pc becomes unusable. After restart, BSOD error 0x00....021a, no system restore nothing helps un pc is almost bricked (reinstallation required).

How to proceed and fix this error and how do I install online client then?!

Hello,

In general, a Blue Screen (BSOD) on Windows can only be caused by hardware defects or driver-related issues. Additional details about the specific error can usually be found directly on the Blue Screen itself or in the Windows Event Logs (usually accessible in Safe Mode then).

With regard to SiteKiosk Online, no such problem is currently known. There was, however, a past issue affecting SiteKiosk Classic for Windows, which was related to specific HP software that conflicted with the SiteKey driver included in SiteKiosk:

Apart from that, there are no known issues at this time, and technically, SiteKiosk itself cannot cause a Blue Screen on a Windows system. To resolve the issue quickly, we recommend performing a clean reinstallation or resetting the Windows 11 system. Afterward, install only the latest Windows updates before installing the SiteKiosk Online client.

Thank you for swift response. I had two brand new Shuttle pcs installed with windows 11 AND Microsoft online account. Both failed exactly the same, when online client installation failed halfway, after reboot some system data became corrupted and restore, reinstall, disk partition, safe mode, etc everything stopped working.

Reinstalled from install usb with local account and online client installed just fine.
Must be some incompatibility with MS online accounts.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m glad to hear that it is now working.

However, the termination of the SiteKiosk Online Installer cannot cause a blue screen, as no Windows system files are modified during the process. Furthermore, we are not aware of any issues related to Microsoft Online accounts.
