Support Request: Chrome browser crashing

Description

When we open a SharePoint site, and after logging in, the SharePoint site will crash after 5 seconds.

We have tried updating the machine, increasing the memory size, and updating Site Kiosk as well as purchasing a new licence, but still no luck.

We have tested it on other machines, and it works fine.

It is using Google Chrome to do this.

Hello,

Unfortunately, you did not specify which product and version you are using. Please note that version 9.9.7077 does not exist for SiteKiosk Online; it is a SiteKiosk Classic Windows version, which is outdated and no longer supported.

If the issue does not occur on other machines, compare the affected system with the working ones. Check for differences at the system level, as well as in the SiteKiosk version, configuration, or project setup.

If you mean that it works outside of SiteKiosk, verify that it also works outside of SiteKiosk when executed under the same user account that SiteKiosk uses on the affected machine (typically the SiteKiosk user account https://www.sitekiosk.com/eu/web/CustomerSupportCenter/ArticleDetails.aspx?ArticleID=5826).

Ensure you are using the latest supported SiteKiosk version. All older versions are no longer supported. You can find the latest versions here:
• SiteKiosk Online: https://www.sitekiosk.com/eu/sitekiosk-online-version-history/
• SiteKiosk Classic Windows: https://www.sitekiosk.com/eu/sitekiosk-classic-windows-version-history/

For SiteKiosk Online (version 1.4 and newer), client updates can be performed via Control > Updates:
https://sitekiosk.online/help/en/Updates.html

SiteKiosk Classic update information:

If the issue persists, please send us detailed information, including logs and clear reproduction steps.

Important Notice Regarding Legacy Products
The software products SiteRemote, SiteCaster, and SiteKiosk Classic are classified as legacy products.
- SiteKiosk Classic will remain available as a standalone software solution. Support is limited to addressing critical bugs, and the SiteKiosk Classic Windows version typically receives approximately one to two updates annually for the Chromium browser engine.
Currently no official end-of-life date has been set.
- The SiteRemote.net service was discontinued on 31 December 2025.
- Self-hosted SiteRemote servers may continue to operate beyond December 31, 2025; however, no further product development will take place.

We recommend transitioning to the current product, SiteKiosk Online (https://www.sitekiosk.com/en/sitekiosk/), which offers centralized server-based configuration, flexible content management, and full server-side license administration.

We are using SiteKiosk Version 9.9.7077, please provide support for this as we have purchased a license for this.
Re: Chrome browser crashing 5/26/2026 3:34 PM
Hallo,

I have already provided several suggestions regarding this:

If the issue does not occur on other machines, please compare the affected system with the working ones. Check for differences at the system level, as well as in the SiteKiosk version and configuration.
If you mean that it works outside of SiteKiosk, please verify that it also functions correctly outside of SiteKiosk when executed under the same user account used by SiteKiosk on the affected machine (typically the SiteKiosk user account: https://www.sitekiosk.com/eu/web/CustomerSupportCenter/ArticleDetails.aspx?ArticleID=5826).

If this does not resolve the issue, the remaining options are to update to the latest SiteKiosk Classic version 9.9.7305 or to switch to SiteKiosk Online.

Please also note that SiteRemote, SiteCaster, and SiteKiosk Classic are considered legacy products.
In regard to problems with SharePoint, we have no information on problems, but even if there are problems, they would only be fixed in SiteKiosk Online.

We have updated to the latest SiteKiosk Classic version and it is still happening, it is happening on other machines. It is only happening to SharePoint sites. I am unable to post the SiteKiosk logs here to show if there are any errors.
