Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. Though you cannot launch the Teams app through this method, here are requirements from SiteKiosk to not get any block alerts when trying to launch a Teams meeting (choose the browser option):
- Close SiteKiosk and log into your admin user.
- Make a backup of your config file.
- Edit the config file with Notepad or Notepad++.
- Look for with Find (Ctrl+F) this line:

 <schemes defaultallowed="false">

Duplicate one of the entries and adjust for the msteams request, marking allowed equal true.

The result should look like this:

 <scheme name="msteams" desc="MS Teams request" allowed="true" />

 <scheme name="ms-teams" desc="MS Teams request" allowed="true" />

Save the file and test SiteKiosk (if file name changed, then you must open Configuration Editor to save the file before running).

Best regards,
Andre.

Hello,

This solution was to address this message: [SiteKiosk] According to the scheme rules (msteams) the navigation to msteams:/l/meetup-

On a test meeting link, using the latest version of SiteKiosk Classic 9.10.95, the meeting link - https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/19... no longer gives the popup in SiteKiosk. Are you referring to the message after you click "Continue on this browser"?

Best regards,
Andre.
Re: Teams blocked 8/6/2026 6:39 PM
is there a way to post a screenshot. or remote in a session.

Basically the interaction is, a user enters a meeting code, it goes to another page, it seems like it's trying to load something for teams, and Chrome blocks the popup. and then that error shows on the web page. the user has to click to start the meeting manually.

Hello,

You can review your browser settings for topics like these that would disconnect your browser session with a new window. Ensure that FullScreen Mode in SiteKiosk is not active (Configuration >>Start Page and Browser). Opening a new window creates a new session, so your website will need to have URL tracking to not be affected. To clarify, FullScreen mode in SiteKiosk cannot take a blank URL parameter from web site links. As an alternative to FullScreen mode, you will need to ensure the following settings in SiteKiosk Configuration>>Start Page and Browser>>Customize (Chrome Browser) [accessible from Advanced if using Start Screen] are in place:

Browser Toolbar>>Show Tab Bar & Toggle Tab Bar Button (Check this option at least)
Advanced>>Display Taskbar (Uncheck this option for full screen mode effect)
Advanced>>"Maximum number of browser window/tabs" (Set to more than 1)
Settings>>"Redirect new windows/tabs to the main window" (Uncheck this option)

With this, new windows are opened in a new tab. If this does not solve the issue for you, you can email us at support-america(at)sitekiosk.com. Please include steps to replicate the issue including samples to test the behavior.
