Support Request: Occasional startup issues

Description

About once every 15 time the PC is booted up we get either a display saying SiteKiosk has failed to start or the attached Webpage. We never had this problem before. Since we have updated:
* The operating system from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 10 IoT.
* The SiteKiosk config files.
* We have also uninstalled site security and reinstalled it due to Windows Update corrupting the captive login user.

We are simply trying to run a captive application (Which will eventually spawn other processes). We do not need or want a web page.

Hello,

I am sorry, but SiteKiosk 9.7 is out of support.

Some general hints. You see the page from your screenshot labeled 1000034346.jpg because you have not set an own startpage in the configuration of SiteKiosk, at least not in the one you have attached, therefore the default one is shown.
The log is full of these warnings:
Warning: System shutdown attempt (WM_QUERYENDSESSION). Abnormal program termination expected.
That means a process which is not SiteKiosk is attempting to shut down the system. Check your Windows logs to find out what process this is. Because this is happening often within a rather short period of time, SiteKiosk switches intentionally into an error mode, which is what you see in screenshot 1000034347.jpg.

Please note that further support requires a current 9.10 version to be used.

The warning messages are probably caused by me testing the reliability of the system of the system by rebooting the PC using its front panel (There are no input devices attached e.g. Keyboard and mouse). That would explain SiteKiosk believing that it has not started up completely 10 time.

Why would SiteKiosk display any web page. It has been told to run an application, not a webpage. Under what circumstances would it display a webpage rather than the application? Would this be resolved by having a non-displaying web page?

Hello,

SiteKiosk Classic will always also display a web page because SiteKiosk Classic is by default a browser application. It will then on top of the browser display an application if for example you have added one to the list of applications and selected it to start automatically (like in your configuration). You may add for example a blank local html page as the start page and set the browser part of SiteKiosk to full screen to make it appear as if there is no browser.

If you do not want SiteKiosk to also start the browser you need to not use SiteKiosk Classic but use SiteKiosk Online instead.

Again, SiteKiosk 9.7 is out of support.
